I recently stayed at a charming ryokan in the heart of Gion. My stay was for four nights, and I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful features of this hotel. The location is excellent, situated on a quiet side-street with easy access to bus stops and the Keihan railway. The spacious and comfortable rooms provided a cozy atmosphere. The hotel also boasts a large sentou, which was always clean and inviting. Additionally, the ryokan's proximity to downtown Gion allowed us to immerse ourselves in the local culture, exploring the streets lined with shops and restaurants. The breakfast served was delicious and varied, offering a delightful mix of traditional dishes and light options. Gion Ryokan Karaku provided an excellent stay, combining a serene setting with convenient amenities.

We had a wonderful stay at a traditional ryokan in the heart of Gion. The location was perfect, with temples and beautiful streets to explore nearby. Our room was spacious and clean, with modern amenities. The staff went above and beyond, assisting us with our heavy luggage and providing umbrellas. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and we slept better than at home. The bath was well-maintained and clean. We loved the quaint houses and shops in the neighborhood, and all the attractions were within walking distance. I highly recommend this ryokan for an authentic and enjoyable stay.
Although the rooms were comfortable, some of the furniture was old and scratched. The bathroom was small and narrow.
